Building incoming links is the basis of any successful SEO campaign. If you're not able to build links that point to your website then you have no chance of getting your domain to rank where you want it. And unless you have extremely interesting content that somehow manages to naturally get attention from others you will have to build links to your site yourself.
The two principle methods of building links that I will focus on here are article marketing and Linx Boss. When looking at their positives and negatives I think the obvious conclusion is that they should both be used.
Linx Boss Positives
1. Once you are able to setup the account it's basically "automatic." This "set it and forget it" aspect is a huge "pro" if you're anything like myself and you don't have a lot of time to spend on your link building campaigns.
2. The tracking system that is included with this service is the best of it's kind that I've seen. It includes info on how much other people are spending on AdWords ads which is sort of a shortcut to knowing what the real value of ranking for that particular keyword is.
3. The "L4L" system is another big bonus. Basically what "L4L" means is that you get additional links for the other links you get outside of Linx Boss.
Linx Boss Negatives
1. Each domain only gets 200 links each month. Unless your target keywords aren't that competitive, that probably won't be enough links on it's own.
2. There is a limit of 5 domains per account.
Article Marketing Positives
1. Unlimited link building. You are only limited by the amount of time you have and the amount of work you are willing to put in.
2. There is no limit to the amount of different domains you can link to.
Article Marketing Negatives
1. Not automatic. You have to actually write every article you submit. This can be very tedious and time consuming work.
